Golden Teacup

Why all drinks aren't served in a teacup, I may never know.

When every detail is so pretty.

And the details are in gold.

Even water could be exciting.

Have a beautiful day!

Sweetheart Apple Pie

Fall is perfect for trying your first apple pie.

Something in the cool air inspired me to turn on the oven and practice my first creative pie crust design.
I thought a pretty crust was out of my reach, but if I could do this, then you should try too!

I'm so pleased with how it turned out.
I recommend using a cookie cutter if you have one. Much faster than my hand carving.
Would be great for Valentine's Day too!

Find the farmhouse scoop and gold serving knife for sale in my Etsy shop.

Ingredients
1 box of Pillsbury pie crusts
1 cup of water
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups apples, peeled, cored and chopped

Instructions
1.) Prepare pie crust according to box directions (and go for a pretty design!)
2.) In a large saucepan, combine water, lemon juice, sugar, spices, and cornstarch.
3.) Cook over medium heat until bubbling and thickened.
4.) Cook 2 minutes continually stirring.
5.) Remove from heat and add vanilla and apples.
6.) Preheat oven according to pie crust package instructions.
7.) Cool to room temperature, then add to pie and bake.
8.) I baked 10 minutes, then covered crust with foil and baked another 30 minutes.
Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream

Enjoy!
You're a super homemade apple pie fancy crust queen! ;)

Nesting All the Time

I love decorating and designing, but only recently realized it!

I always thought that because I liked so many different things, that I couldn't decorate.

Then I figured out it's okay to try a variety of styles and it's okay to CHANGE MY MIND!

Whether I find or am gifted with beautiful vintage....

or lovingly hand-crafted items (such as the bedspread by my mother-in-law!)...

I am FREE to NEST every day!

Eggnog Thief

I don't always steal the last of my husband's prized eggnog, but when I do, I make a lovely ordeal of it.
He even had to ask and make sure I had really drank it too.
Yes, dear. :)

And it was the finest cup of eggnog!

Thanks to My Uncle...

...I got to be a wedding photographer for the day!
My Uncle and his wife were not planning on a big wedding with a professional photographer and the like.
However, when they gave me permission to run around like paparazzi that day, I was very excited to give them my best without getting in the way!

It was a toasty 100 degrees, very unusual for an October 4th, but you wouldn't know it with everyone's smiling faces.

My grandfather officiated the wedding. He, as usual, was a kick!

Here comes the bride.

An intimate gathering in a scenic location.

A special moment.

I'd never seen my Uncle so happy.

He got his bride!

I was a little shy to take them aside for portraits after the ceremony, but it was well worth it!
I gave the bride a chance to rest her feet and for the both of them to talk for the first time as a married couple.

Floating on a cloud.

They'll look on these for years to come.

The bride had an eye for romantic details.

I offer them heartfelt prayers for a happy and holy marriage.
And pictures to remember their special day!
